Media Manager & Belarc

Does anyone else use Belarc for checking security updates? For quite a while now Belarc was telling me that I had a critical update missing - Q970895. It is connected to Microsoft SQl server. The other day I decide to experiment by uninstalling Media Manager - hey presto! I no longer needed the update. Does anyone know how to install Media Manager and then bring it up to date security wise?

Yes, Media Manager uses Microsoft SQL Server. I would imagine you could just run Windows Update to make sure that all of your Microsoft software is up to date and all should be good.

Using Windows Update means installing Microsoft's Genuine Advantage guff which I am not prepared to do. I've tried several times to find the right update by hand by hand but have been unable to do so. You don't happen to know which files are required, do you? I've tried updating SQL Server in various ways and either the update fails to install or I still end up failing verification.
