Media Manager not installed?

Vegas 11 build 521 (and earlier). Media Manager is enabled in preferences, but the Media Manager Window simply says "Media Manager is not installed.". Since it's not an install option this is puzzling and the documentation does not mention any required steps. Another bug or am I missing something?

Repro'd on fresh installs on two different work stations.

Must be that pesky anti-virus software I stubbornly refuse to stop using.

Run setup on the original installation DVD--you will find it as a separate install option.

I usually don't install it, and don't receive that error. However, maybe I should, since I'm getting crashes. Maybe Vegas is looking for it?

That explains it - thanks. I purchased a download version so didn't get the option.
I'm interested in it's capabilities to document clip usage across projects - I was thinking of writing a plug in to hook into a DB when I found documentation which seems to indicate it's already there. I'll follow up Sony to see if I can get the installer.

I doubt Vegas looking for it would be much of an issue - particularly if you clear the "use Media Manager" preference option. And I've done some spying sessions in ProcMon and never noticed it - but it can't hurt...can it?

Sam. Select Downloads from the options along the top and select All Downloads from the dropdown list.
Select Updates from the list.
Next select Media Manager Updates from the updates page (in the Media Manger Group).
The first option is Media Manger for Vegas Pro... with the latest available Version 2.4.
That is all you need.

Have fun. I use it for projects with lots of clips.

Willem.
