"Media offline"

Having trouble importing audio files from a CD(Sony's 1001 Sound Effects) to complement a silent portion of a movie. I succeeded in importing the audio from the CD into my media pool, and then dragging it onto my voice track. I previewed the moviue clip, including the sound, and iot worked perfectly. I then saved the entire project but when I reopened it later, an error message appeared that the audio files were "missing", Consulting the forum, I clicked on "ignore all missing files" and found my movie again, but the subject audio files were replaced with "Media Offline" events, and the audio was gone. I repeated the entire process, again saved the project, and the same thing happened. Why can I not save the sound files? What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any advice!

You need to put the files on your hard drive. The program is looking for the files but can't search the disk. When you import an audio cd it transfers the files to the hard disk but not with files read off what it thinks is another disk drive.
OK I'll try to make sense of myself.
Transfer the sony sound files to a folder on your hard drive then point the program towards them.
