Only way I could think of to get out of this and complete the job, was to rename another video file with the name that DVDA was looking for. Surely there's a better way than that??? The file that it's looking for, and stopping me from completing the project doesn't appear in the project overview at all!

Go to Project Media window and click on 'lightning flash' icon at top left.

Blowed if I can see that Tog! We're talking DVDA, not Vegas, yeah?

Oops, beg pardon. I was thinking Vegas.

Assuming the video clip isn't in use anywhere in your project -- try going to the Explorer panel and browsing to another folder on your hard drive.

The "missing link" may actually just be a lost link to something being displayed in the Explorer panel.

Tried that Steve - no joy. I have a vague memory of this problem being posted before, but can't find it. It's easy to get around, but plain annoying!

Could it be that the missing media is associated with menu buttons or background?

It was the original video (Play all) file in the project. Replaced using the normal 'replace' dialogue.

Same issue here... how to fix this please?

Lesson for you. Whenever you are in the midst of authoring project - and you merely need to sub one file for another - Then the requirement to "replace" must be met by the following criteria - 1) same exact filename 2) in the same filepath of your OS.
Otherwise CHAOS!
