Media Pool -> Trimmer: Playhead not at beginning of clip?!

When I move from the Media Pool to the Trimmer, the playhead never seems to be at the beginning of the clip. It doesn't seem to matter what method I use to do it (drag 'n drop, highlight and press enter, double-click...), but the playhead is never at the beginning. Perhaps more frustrating is that when I use what I find to be the most efficient way to go from the the Media Pool to the Trimmer - double-clicking the clip (with the setting checked in the preferences) - the playhead is moved to the mouse pointer's position.

If there is a way around this I'd really like to know.

In most circumstances it is a GOOD thing that your cursor position is maintained when opening a clip in the trimmer.

However, if you want to jup to the start, just hit the Go To Start button or Ctrl/Home.

How is it a good thing exactly? Sure, perhaps when returning to a clip you've already worked on, but when starting a new project with a bunch of clips (say 50+), it can get pretty annoying to have to press extra buttons to get the cursor to the beginning of the media clip every single time.
Also, the problem is not that the position is maintained, because when I open a clip that I've never even viewed before, the cursor is seemingly placed randomly in the clip. If it were in fact being maintained, wouldn't the cursor be at the beginning of an unviewed clip?

BTW, I should've clarified that I already know how to send the cursor directly to the beginning. My post is really addressing the fact that it doesn't do this by default.
