Media text shifted ?

LuluBent wrote on 6/24/2022, 9:08 AM

Hello ,

I am adding a text to the precise image.
I adjust from the bottom right of the screen.

Why does the cursor appear in dotted yellow?

The text does not appear at the cursor position. It appears in the next image. I have never had this case of figure.

By positioning the timeline cursor with the mouse cursor at random. The cursor is continuous yellow. That's what I've always had. The text appears well at the cursor position.

In the top image, you have the cursor placed between frames. The text will start on a frame boundary. Make sure that Options - Quantize to Frames is turned on!

I don't get it.
I only get this with 4K60 video.
Never in 1080p25.

If I want a text or an image in the picture from 10,15 for example. I have to set it to 10,14.

In the first image, your cursor is on 10,14.5 (for example). It's not on a frame boundary. In the second image, it is.

I did the photos wrong.

In both cases.
The red mouse cursor is moving the text media over the timeline cursor which turns yellow as soon as I am in front of it.

For the first photo, I manually set the image to a specific one from the bottom right of the screen.

On the second photo, I clicked on the timeline at random with the mouse cursor.

In 18 months of experience I never had this case.

Do you have both 4K60 and 1080p25 videos on your timeline?

LuluBent wrote on 6/25/2022, 5:38 AM

On this project only 4K60.

LuluBent wrote on 6/29/2022, 4:03 AM

When I open a new project, there is this window:

There is strictly nothing that corresponds to 4K60 or 2160p60. To be precise: 59.94.

Some options are not even current anymore.

In VP19 I don't know. And soon VP20.

Does this explain what I said above?

In the projectsettings you are able to change (customize) that by filling in 60 fps

@LuluBent I'm surprised by the limited amount of 4k presets, I've had to create one for my phone clips, as @j-v says change the settings as you wish, edit the Template name at the top & click the black square Save at the end of the template box

I have tried twice and it does not change anything.

@LuluBent When you drag you file into a new project do you get this msg?

PS. can you go to your icon at the top, click it - My Profile, & fill in your Signature with your Vegas version, Windows version & system specs, full name of CPU, GPU, & amount of RAM etc. this will then show at the bottom of the comments & will help people help you 👍

Signature updated.

Yes, I have this window.

When I freeze-frame, it's weird too.
In the preview, everything is normal.
But after exporting the video, the freeze frame is duplicated. For example, frame 14 fades in at 50% and frame 15 at 100%. So two frames in one.
To remedy this, I had to work on this freeze frame in a new project. A few seconds are enough.
Then I exported it and placed it in the same place in the original project. I export the video and this time everything is perfect.

There is only this problem in 4K60. Never in 1080p25.

I may have found the solution.
The videos are from a GoPro Hero 10.
It's set to 4K60, so it looks like it's true slow motion (x 2 indicated by the GoPro).
This must be the reason for the lag.
