Memory Dump Bluescreen

Has anyone experienced a blue screen pop up lock up the conmputer telling you that your computer is "dumping physical memory to disk".
I have 1gb of ram 260gb of hard drive running on seperate drives audigy 2 , XPPRO etc so specs aren't the problem.

The video capture problem has just restarted after months of successful capturing. It was fixed originally by installing McAfee virus software
There is no problem with capturing to moviemaker by the way.

I have searched this forum and updated my drivers and am just hoping someone here has had a similar problem and found out what is the cause.

Thanks in advance

Martin

I just had that very "memory dump" message a couple of weeks ago. The culprit was a bad CPU fan letting the CPU over heat. Fortunately my mobo had protections that keet the CPU from being damaged hopefully.

I have pretty much the same setup as you with 1 gig ram, 160 gig capture disk, XP Pro etc.

If your mpbo will let you monitor the Cpu fan RPM's check that. If it's less than 4000 then you may need to replace the fan.
