Menu 1 on Timeline

What is the process in Sony DVD Architect Pro 4.5 in removing the Menu 1 (Blue) clips from the timeline so that I can pull a mpeg file from the explorer window up into the menu 1 large blue box to start the process to? :
1. Prepare
2. Burn DVD

Also, can anyone help me understand how to get a 1:02 minute video clips from Vegas Pro 8.0 to prepare and burn on the Arch. 4.5 program? I keep getting a message that says that I have used to much disk space, ie. 4.5GB and is to large. My understanding is that it will only allow something like 1.0GB? I do have Nero installed also on my harddrive, tech. says that that may possibly be a conflict with Arch. 4.5? Looking for any help and answers would be really appreciated. Thank You.

By default, any new project in DVD Architect is menu based. The disc will start by giving the viewer a menu with one or more button they can select to play a movie or go to another menu or whatever. That "blue clip" you're looking at is the default menu. If you want to add a button to that menu so the viewer can play a movie, then just drag your video onto the blue background (on the workspace, not on the timeline). That will add the video to your project and create a button on the main menu.

By dragging your video to the timeline, what you're doing is replacing the menu background, but it's still just a menu (not a DVD title). And DVD menus are limited to 1GB. Full titles are not. By the way the "Menu 1" text you see is the default title that will appear on this menu. If you don't want it there, select it and hit Delete. If you want different text, select it, hit F2, and edit the text.

if you don't want a menu, go to File > New > Single Movie Project and browse for your movie.

I'd also recommend having a look at the manual / online help.
