Menu audio volume

Wondering if someone can help. Recently did a project for a friend - in Vegas Pro 12 - manipulated audio levels of video track/music/overlay etc so that everything blended well and nothing got drowned out. Also watched the audio meter in Vegas - jumping nicely and not too high. All hunkydory.
Now if I add a sound file to the menu, (I have noticed this before) it is ALWAYS louder than the video. So I get blasted by the menu, turn the volume down, then turn it up again for the feature.
My question: is there some way I can adjust the volume of menu audio items? I can't see it.
Thanks in advance.

There aren't volume controls in DVDA, that's an editing function.
How are you rendering your menu audio? What are the settings?

The only thing I have done so far is to add some music to the menu page - Menu page - background media - replace, with an audio file I have on hand.
The other option I suppose is to preprocess this file so that it comes in at a lower volume - have to figure out how to do that. Maybe I could use Vegas itself to load, lower volume, then render? Hmmmm.

Yes, volume correction in Vegas is the right thing to do.
