Menu item not highlighting...?

Of course, as I'm in a rush to make a DVD right now, Architect throws a curveball my way. I've done this many times so I'm baffled at what the problem is here.

In building a DVD, while editing the text of items in a Scene Selection menu, one particular video is being skipped during the "preview" option. With 5 videos, the skipped one being #2, the highlight mask goes from 1 to 3, then 4 and 5 with no problem.

To troubleshoot, I deleted the page and video files and started again. And at first, the box shows a highlight on it before I edit the look. I can scroll through all 5. But I change the font/size and change to "text only", this particular video is no longer "clickable". The text is there...the highlight style is universal to all these vids...I can use the mouse and click on the video to play it...but I can't get the text mask overlay to highlight it as an option on the menu.

any suggestions? Thank you!

Switch the Workspace to Navigation Mode by clicking on the button in the upper right corner of the panel. This will display each button with arrows pointing from it to another button -- effectively showing the order the buttons will highlights as you arrow through them.

Are all of your buttons linked other buttons by these arrows?

Also, have you ensured that none of the "live" areas for any button overlaps with the "live" areas for any other button?

How are the items laid out on the menu?

When using the the arrow keys to navigate between menu items, the default "next" item must be vertically (or horizontally) somewhat aligned with the item you're leaving. If it's "too far" out of alignment (whatever that is), DVDA's preview (and presumably a DVD player) will skip it. To get it back in the game, either nudge the item more in line with the other(s) or use the Navigation tool, as Steve said, to override the default behavior.
