This is a known bug and will be fixed in the update of DVDA2.

It occurs when the menu is a still. The only workaround is to add some animation to the menu (i.e. video background, animated graphic or button).

As an alternative to adding an animation to the menu, can't you change the Optimize DVD window to force recompression of that menu? Or is that just for the "disappearing text" issue?

Hey SonySDB!

A few weeks back there was a statement made that a new DVDA update would be release about now.

What's the latest status? The fix is much needed to get rid of the buggy issues.

Last such statement I saw said "within a few weeks," and it was posted one week ago.

A couple weeks would mean next week. A few weeks means probably not for at least a couple more weeks. ;-) Frankly, I'd rather they do it right than do it soon. The Vegas 5.0c update wasn't out for more than a couple hours before people started pointing out new bugs.

Hmm. Seems like it was longer than that. Guess we've got another 2 weeks to wait.

As for rushing a fix patch, I think there are so many problamatic issues with DVDA2 that any newly introduced problems couldn't outnumber the fixes.

With this crowd, one new problem is liable to get Sony tarred and feathered. ;-)
