Menu transition video

Tmadd wrote on 10/14/2016, 2:09 PM

Greetings all.

This has been a long time issue for me but never really pursed an answer but I'm at a point where I need to figure this out. This only occurs when creating a DVD and not a Bluray. Please see both attachments.
The issue is when DVDA plays my transition media it changes the aspect ratio.
My menu media looks as it should. See first image.

When the selection is made the transition media plays as it should but looks like this.

Both video files were created in After Effects using the exact same encode settings.
Can't figure out why this happens.

I hope my description makes sense and any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'm using the most recent version of DVDA and Windows 7 pro.

Thanks!

What is your T_Main_to_video_HD.mov resolution? have you tried rendering this to DVD-Architect MPEG2 format?

Hi Set!

Thaks for the reply.

The resolution for both, the main_menu_with_intro_HD and T_Main_to_video_HD are the same 1920x1080x24.

At the recomendation of another film maker, can't remember who, I use the rendered blueray files to create my DVD's and let DVDA recompress and the results are much better, IMO, than rendering to a DVD format.

That being said, I still had the same problem while rendering with the DVDA_NTSC_Widescreen preset.

Try adjust this setting in DVDA: Background Media > Stretch type.

Even in Vegas Pro, when rendering from HD resolution to DVD Architect format, need to turn on Stretch video to fill output frame size (do not letterbox)
