Menu Trouble

I am really having problems with menus for my project and I am not satisfied how they are turning out. I have used DVDA and Ulead DVD Workshop and still have the same troubles.

Basically, my menus are not that good looking, the main pages is flickering and so are the preview windows. When I use motion menus I get a lot of flickering even though my main show has none. The text in the menu screen is also not very clear.

Any input would be a help on how to improve this part of my project. it really takes away from the rest of the production when the opening menu looks bad. Is there another program I should be looking for?
thx.

What are you usinng to create the motion menus? You sure you're legal on output? DVD is a lot more forgiving than other formats of delivery, but it's still a concern if you're way over. Is your audio too hot to where it's making the video jump/buzz?
Are you working in PAL or NTSC?Could you be creating a moire with colors, lines, and font types?

Spot, my tests don't even have audio in them yet as I am not done creating it so that can't be causing any skipping.

In a program like Ulead DVD Workshop, which isnt a high end program, you just pick NTSC output, widescreen and then load in your vidfeo which then gets automatically chaptered and motion menus created. Pick a template for the menu and edit your text and thats about all the control you have in this program.
