Menu Video Loop in DVDA 4.5

In DVDA 4.5 setup a Menu background to loop. Works fine except when it gets to the end of the loop the background turns to black for 1 or 2 seconds then starts at the start of the video loop.

Is this a bug or is there a way to code the menu to have a smooth transition back to the start of the loop to give the appearance of a continuous video?

Thanks

There will almost always be a brief pause between the end of a menu and the return to the beginning. This is a limitation of the hardware in a DVD player and the amount of pause will vary from one player to the next. This exists on all DVDs that have looping menu backgrounds. Some are just less noticeable than others because the menu creator has taken care to account for this pause. Maybe by fading the background between loops or adding transitions throughout the background video so that the loop is no less obvious than the other "changes."

That said, it shouldn't turn to black and certainly not for that long. Does your menu includes audio as well? If so, check the timeline and make sure that the audio and video are the same length. If the audio is longer than the video, then DVDA has to fill in the extra time with a black screen.

One option is to take your background video into Vegas or other video editor and "loop" it there a few times. Render this to a new background video and use that in your DVD instead. This will give you X number of completely seamless loops. If the viewer hasn't made his selection by then, then he's stuck seeing the inevitable hiccup. ;)

you need your video to not have black @ the end.

Working on updating the clip to go from about 1 minute to about 6 minutes and see how that works.

Also, I think I will try to fade in at the start of the clip and out at the end to see it that goes smoother.

Will let you know how it works.

Thanks for your help.

that's the only way it will display black. double check to see if the menu length is longer then the video, even by a frame. That makes a black frame.
