Yes, build one video with the songs. Mark each video as a chapter and then have a play all button, which plays the whole video and a chapter menu to select the individual songs.

The HELP menu has more details.

So when I build that one video is it Menu Based or Music/video Compilation?

Menu based.

THANKS

OK is there any way to do this without taking all of the songs and burning them into one file and then adding chapters ?

I know I can set the End Action of Video 1 to begin video 2, but then I won't be able to play just one video and have it end.

So is the only way to render all of these videos into one file and then create chapters ?

If you build a Music/video compilation it will play continuously. There will be fixed chapter points at the original clip boundaries. The can be used like any other chapter points, except that you cannot edit them or add to them.

"I know I can set the End Action of Video 1 to begin video 2, but then I won't be able to play just one video and have it end."

Never done it, but I would have thought that you just change the end action of each video to go back to the menu. But that will take away the option of your first post - to play continuously through the whole thing. You can't have both options, you have to choose.

Yes you can easily use end action to link videos and still play only one video.

You have to add two instances of each video (the actual video will only be copied once but will be listed twice). Then link to one with the end actions set to link for PLAY All and link to the other with return to menu for single play.

This is explained in the HELP menu.

The Compilation method will give continuous play. Playlist or End Action methods will result in a slight delay between items. This may or may not matter to you.

TOG62 is correct and you can minimize the delay by defining the physical order of the files to match the play all order. You will have some delay but the searching time will be less.

I'm not concerned too much with the time between. Each number fades in and out. I've filled up to capacity so I can't add videos. So if adding another instance doesn't increase thats great I'll try when I get home
Thanks

I'm not trying to be a pain...when I "add another instance" of the video, (by using INSERT MEDIA) it seems to but the video in again. How do I add another instance (I'm assuming a reference) without actually copying the video again. I've look in help but can't seem to find it.
Former user wrote on 8/24/2014, 4:54 PM
How can you tell it is adding the video again?
If the identical media is inserted twice, it only copies the data once.
fosko wrote on 8/24/2014, 5:34 PM
I could tell because I was following the meter in the lower right hand corner that shows
"Space Used"/"Percentage of Media" and it was increasing. But.... I GOT IT!!!
I must have had to copies of each piece on my hard drive. When I tried to establish a second instance... I was going to the wrong folder and actually loading a new (although identical) song. I went to the first instance and looked at "Explore Containing Folder" to make sure I was going to the right source.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
