Mercalli V4

Mercalli V4 that came with VP14 does not work with Sony VP13 pre Magix version.  This is my first time try to use Mercally V4 in VP13 on a project that I am working on and its required software activation.  I then enter mercalli V4 serial# that came with VP14 and it said invalid.  Can some one here confirm it.   I find this is strange.  For example, if you have Newblux FX plug ins and it works on all Vegas Pro.  .

It is not the full product it is keyed to v14. If you have read this form many plugins that worked with v13 don't work with the Sony version. Not strange at all, many plugins included with programs are only keyed to the version it is included with. Found this with every version of Movie Studio.

Can Mercalli V4 for VP14 be installed together with Mercalli V4 for Sony Vegas VP13?

I have Mercalli V4 plugin for VP14. It also shows up in V13 as a plugin. It runs in V13 with the Mercalli banner in the right hand corner (trial mode?). There is an UNLOCK button which brings up the Activation window. All I think you'd need is a serial number. The serial number for VP14 will not work here (at least for me). So, I cannot really use Mercalli V4 in VP13. I don't know the cost of activation for VP13.

I have the Mercalli 4 SAL and plugins that work in Sony VP13 but they dont show up in VP14 at all. I will have to contact ProDAD about this. I have the feeling the cant co-exist. Similar with NB Titler Pro3 and the bundled Titler Pro Express, only one can be installed and will work only in one version of VP. This is all a total mess.

+1

Here the same with NB Titler 1 that came with Vegas 12, didn't work in Vegas 13.
I got a discount to buy that Titler for all versions and now the same titler crashes Vegas 14.
So my advice is: Don't buy that stuff that is only usable (sometimes with heavy troubles) in one version, but concentrate on the Vegas build-in titlers and stabilizers.
For me after a lot of trying they are good enough for me.

I usally don't, especially NB is known for screwing things up. I bought Mercalli 4 SAL+ and it came with the plug ins. The build in stabalizer is actually sufficient for most cases and I can use the SAL version for severe cases.

In my case I got Mercalli V4 with my purchase of VP14.. ProDad tells me I need to get a serial number for V13 -- about $100 cost and another $100 for CMOS fixer. THis may be the pattern with ProDad. You get licensed for a single version. So if you own Mercalli for VP13, it would be the same, you need to buy a serial number for VP14. Hopefully, Magix will continue to bundle Mercalli with their future versions of Vegas.

Update: I went ahead and installed the Mercalli package that came with VP14 and all is good. I now have Mercalli working in VP13 and VP14. It seems you really must have one serial number for each version of Vegas Plugin.

I never install Mercalli bundle with VP14 (I own the "normal" version) and I shows up in VP13 & 14. To show it up in VP14, I only run Mercalli installer again.
