Merging Frame Rates???

Greetings, I'm using a VJ program for live video mixing. It has a nice feature which creates an AVI file of what I'm mixing, while I'm mixing it. The problem is that it spits out a 15fps .avi file and there's no option to change that. I was wanting to bring the video output file into vegas and sync it with the same audio track to demo the VJ stuff. I can't get it to sync up for anything. I tried changing the frame rate of the project to match the file(15fps) but it didn't help. Am I missing something?

Vegas doesn't so much care what the frame rate of the audio is that you are syncing to the video. In other words, 2:00 of audio will sync to video that is 2:00 long as well, regardless of whether it's 2fps or 60 fps. The problem lies in matching other video framerates, and in doing that, you're likely going to need to render all your Vegas stuff to 15fps after you've got it all synced.
Or maybe I'm viewing what you want to do backwards?

What's backwards anyways?-) I goofed...it's 25.00fps. It's like this, I have a clip rendered outside of Vegas at 25.00fps. I want to use it in a Vegas project, and I want the frame rate to be 29.97 in Vegas. In Vegas, I'm using the audio track that I mixed the video to, live. And my problem is that I can't seem to get it in sync. It seems like the video is for sure running a bit faster...like, it always gets ahead of the music and I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that live.

I'm not sure how to change the frame rate of the imported media, you mentioned doing that.

Thanks for the reply Spot. I'm gonna do another test here in a little while to make sure I did the 'performance' part in time.

Try to find a spot (no pun intended) at the beginning where you can get both the video and the audio to line up. Find another spot near the end of the video where you can identify the same spot in the audio, even if they're not lined up. Hold the Ctrl key down and drag the right edge of the video clip until those two spots line up as well. If the video runs faster then you'll Ctrl-drag to the right to slow it down. If the video runs slower then you'll Ctrl-drag to the left to speed it up. Vegas doesn't care what the original frame rate was. When you've got it synced Vegas will resample the frames to whatever frame rate you want for the output file.
