Micromv - I think I am missing something!

I have a Sony Micromv camera - a IP220E that suits my purposes wonderfully well mostly because of its size (I travel a lot). I find editing in Vegas is a real pleasure after I switched from Studio 8. However, I think I am missing a great deal by not being able to use the Sofo capture utility. I can't be really sure, because I can't use it to find out what I am missing. Get my drift? But I suspect that being able to annotate and classify your files as you capture them is probably a very good productivity feature that I am missing because I have to use Movie Shaker for capture. (How can a company like Sony make such good hardware and provide such poor software for it?)

My question is: Is there any prospect of Sofo supporting the capture of Micromv in later releases of Vegas 4?

Supplementary question: Have other Micromv users found any clever ways of using Vegas to capture Micromv?

Doesn't your Micromv camera have a "iLink" firewire connection???
If so, it should work exactly the same as any other DV footage.
Or is it not DV??

It isn't DV. It is MPEG2.

David Pogue recently reviewed the Sony Micromv camera on the NYTimes.com site. He wasn't that thrilled with it because it was so difficult to capture video to something other than Movie Shaker. Sony recommended capturing to Movie Shaker then exporting to AVI, but even that was difficult according to Pogue.

Not sure the review is still available, but it was on the site a few weeks ago.
