Microphone on the Road

I'm planning on doing some audio recording while on the road, and I want a microphone to hook up to my laptop. I'm going to send my recording back to the studio editing computer so the guy's there can work with it. Any recomendations? Thanks!

Are you just going to record speech at your laptop, or are you recording events, conferences, etc.?

In that case, look at some of the higher priced Telex mics for computers ($30-40). They give good quality with excellent ambient noise rejection. Keep in mind that some models are extremely directional, you have to be lined up directly in front to be heard clearly.
