Microphone record bug

When recording audio from a microphone, I have been encountering the following error for several versions:
- I record a sound, but since it failed, I delete it with Delete All
- the unrecorded sound appears in the project list (why?)
- I record again (while the Record listener turns itself off when I restart the recording) and finally I keep the file.
- if the timeline cursor is where the end of the previous recording is, a mystical fade is also created (see pics). I always have to delete this manually and only see it with a high zoom. It's a junk and I don't know what it's doing there.

If you've introduced a media event on to a project's timeline, that event will be listed in the Project Media window. I imagine that it is not automatically removed from the Porject Media window just in case that the deletion was accidental and the missing event will then be highlighted when you next open the project. This is a very good safety mechanism. However, you can clear the Project Media by hitting the 'Remove all unused media from project' button in the top LH corner of the Project Media window (see arrows below)

Re the fade, go to the Editing tab in Options/Preferences and there is a field where the length of fades that are automatically applied to audio events when placed on the timeline. The minimum fade length is 1 ms.
