Microsoft .net 2.0 Grief

Just got through purging out .net 2.0 which was causing the following problems:
1...Add printer wizard failed to operate
2...Add new hardware wizard failed to operate
3...During shutdown "end program" menu activated and program would not end continually.
4...HP scanner software would not recognize OS (Win2K)
5...Winfax Pro 10 programming menu would hang.
6...Abnormally long time for control panel to activate.
7...Abnormally long time for Winfax macros to install

After removing .net 2.0 everything worked fine.

Could it be that .Net 2.0 hasn't been tested as much with Win2K?

Have you installed SP3?

I never had any problems with Win 2K & .net 2. However, I found it useless as it didn't replace 1.1 & noting required it. :/

I have the full shot of updates in Win2K, the update site shows lots of zero's. I did have a minor problem in my other XP computer with Matrox
APVe drivers with .net 2.0 so I blew that one out too.
