Inspired by a recent thread, I thought I would open discussion on using MIDI Control surfaces (over USB). Are many of you doing it? Can the mapping be as deep as the user wants?

I note there are three predefined options in Vegas,but I would like to give it a go with one of a few controllers I already own. Due to the compact size, I'm eyeing off my Nektar Panorama P1 for the job.

As I delve deeper into Vegas, there are a few things that I would like to control with a tactile device other than the mouse, such as the 'playhead' in the edit/crop window, some X/Y axis movements, and even to map shortcuts to launch/collapse common windows in the workspace.

What have been your experiences ?
