But i't possible to make my own MMC configuration with the "Generic control" in external controller list?
Is it also possible to use 2 external controllers?
Is there by any chance any accomodation for a Yamaha 01V96 as a control surface built in? I've downloaded but not had a chance to install nor read the manual.
There is no native support for anything other than the Mackie Control Universal. The Generic Driver is available to allow simple MIDI devices to control Vegas.
The Yamaha devices can be mapped, but there will be limitations. The native format for some of the Yamaha mixers is to use SYSEX to communicate surface changes. The Generic Driver does not support SYSEX msg to be mapped.
Anything is possible with a native driver written for a specific device.
Is the control surface implementation going to be open enough that the scripting folks could have a go at it? Is an "echo" type function forthcoming for the generic interface? Otherwise older motorized controllers will unlikely ever be properly supported as the hardware companies will not write drivers for obsolete products that they can't profit from. I wouldn't expect them to. It really is up to the host software company to leave enough open doors for the user to access. My 2cents.

<< You expect your sound card manufature to develope new drivers for the latest OS for a 4 year old audio card. Why can't you expect this from other hardware vendor to do the same with regard to their hardware functionality and advertised use?

<< I don't know if I agree with this. You are saying that it is our problem for hardware vendors that stop supporting their users. Hmmm.
Peter, your arguments seem valid. I very much will wait and see.
"We will do the best we can to let users do this on there own, but there will be no substitute for the hardware vendors doing the right thing in supporting their users and their legacy products correctly"
If you do your best to let us do this, that is really all I can ask. I absolutely would never expect you guys to try and directly support everything.
