MIDI setup for VV3 and Delta 1010

Hi guys,

VV3
Delta 1010

Can I record real-time midi?

Basically, what I want to do is, record using MIDI and then change the sound assigned to the recorded parts. So, if I record a part I like, I can upgrade the sounds and not have to touch the recorded part.

First off, I would like to know how to configure MIDI. I have my MIDI out on the keys and going into the the Delta but can't find any settings for selecting MIDI in VV3. When i arm the track to record all I get is the regular Delta inputs.

Oh, that explains my not being able to find it!

Any suggestions? Does Acid 3.0 Pro?

ACID 3 does include MIDI playback and record. It does not permit advanced editing. It will let you change patches and adjust volumes.

Vegas does do MIDI. It can generate MIDI time code to synchronize external devices with project playback or can chase (be triggered by) MIDI time code generated by an external device. It has options for both MTC (MIDI Time Clock with different SMPTE rates) and MIDI Clock.

Go to Preferences - Sync tab and select the port that you will use for MTC, or MIDI.

Then go to Options - Timecode and select Generate MIDI Time Code or Generate MIDI Time Clock (depending on which protocols you want to use). To allow Vegas to be triggered by an external MIDI device, select Chase to MIDI Time Code.

No it doesn't. It does sync. That is not the same thing.

The original post wanted to record MIDI.
