midi sync

Is there a way to sync a yamaha ex with vegas so the yamaha
"tracks" can be brought into vegas as seperate tracks. I
have seen the create midi time code and other midi
functions on vegas, but I am unfamiliar with midi and I am
having trouble making this track import work. Any advice
would be great. Thanks, and good recording/creating to you
all!

You're talking about your synthesizer, it's a nice one too. Here's
the story with midi clock. You can either slave your synth to Vegas
or slave Vegas to your synth (synth as master). What this will do is
send a tick to your synth based on the project tempo of the track,
assuming that you defined it under "properties." Your patches will
be in time with the temp of the track, you record them and all is
good.

You will need to set up your midi device through Vegas and you will
need to find out how to switch your synth from transmitting and
receiving midi clock.

Hope this helps.

Tad,
thinking about getting Vegas. Got Forge and love it. About what you
wrote a while back concerning midi syncing: can vegas also be set up
for time signature changes or tempo changes? Sort of like mapping?

Thanks, Letterboy
