I'm in Minneapolis but I'm not aware of a user group.

We are moving to Eden Prairie at the end of this month. Maybe we can get together next month or so. I'll e-mail you then.
Here is a link to the talented Vegas user and the experienced producer I hooked up with here in Texas through this board.

Give me an e-mail when you settle in. I'm not far from Eden Prairie. Don't worry I'm not a competitor as I use Vegas for my company's in-house training etc.

Welcome to the upper midwest.

We can get pretty spread out around here, but I'm in Fargo, ND ( hence my handle ), and I am occasionally in MPLS for various things.

Shoot me a line if you ever need any help with anything as I'm a pretty broad fellow as far as talents are concerned, and I always like to help out a fellow Vegas user. That goes for anyone within a half a days drive or so of where I am really.

Looking forward to meeting and hopefully working with you both.
How much is the cold an issue on the camera? Ambient moisture? Constant condensation?
I'm still on SD, want to go to HD, but decided to experience the enviro first. John

Warm to cold = no problem
cold to warm on the other hand...

Generally it's more an issue of batteries not having good life for me, if anything.
(that is apart from wicked cold fingers)

MPLS doesn't get it as cold as Fargo does ( were in a low valley here so we get all kinds of cold, and MPLS has a lot of City heat that a 300K population area like Fargo and surrounding towns do not manage to produce ).

All in all - primary concerns would be if you going in from out doors, bag your cam for the transition if you can, if you can't ( shooting outdoors half a day and then indoors the other half for example ) then just shoot and hope. I've never personally had an issue related to it that I'm aware of.

Oh and for the love of your fingers, wrap some foam rubber around the legs of your metal tripod when shooting in the winter or suffer the numb stinging pain of 20 below with a stiff breeze and skin on frozen metal.
