Missing a channel of stereo

It's a long story but I'll try to be brief. Let's say you have clips with only one side of a stereo file and want audio on the other side (or make it mono). How would you go about doing it? (I have Sound Forge 6 and Sonar 2)
What I tried was opening in SF6 and copy/paste the existing right track to the left and then saved the .avi with the same name (replacing the existing) but it will take forever doing this as it apparently thinks it needs to save the unchanged video too. Do you know of a more efficient way of doing this?
TIA,
Randy

Just right-click the audio track, choose Channels, and then pick your desired option (such as Left Only if you want the left side on BOTH tracks).

Isn't there something easier than that? : )
Thank you very much jetdv!

It doesn't get any easier than Vegas and Sound Forge !

And I didn't even *need* Sound Forge in this case (or save as etc).
