The other thing I did recently was download the MS update that lands you just short of Service Pack 2. Are there any Firewall upgrades that go with that that might cause whatever enables the Mainconcept Codec to become disabled?
I have SP2 installed and had no issues with Vegas at all, it sounds like you just had a bad upgrade, have you tried full install then the upgrade again.
I thought SONY had a hybrid codec developed by Main Concept specifically for Vegas & DVDA. If so, it might have overwritten the or disrupted your originalMain Concept codec.
Yep-- Just installed DVD Arch2b, which I don't think was available when Vegas 5d landed-- and --ouila! --Mainconcept MPEGs are back.
So-- to summarize-- if you're a Vegas5+DVDA package owner and update V5d before updating DVDA, don't be surprised if your MPEGs go away until you install the upgrade to DVDA2b.
You know, that's what I thought. I thought I remembered updating to DVDA2b BEFORE V5d. And if that's the case-- what seems to have happened when I installed Vegas5d was that MainConcept MPEGs disappeared (along with AC3) UNTIL I reinstalled DVDA2b.
Sound familiar to anybody else? Anyway, reinstalling DVDA2b after installing V5d seems to have brought everything back...
