"missing message" error when trying to render

I have rendered many files to .wmv format and now all of a sudden I get an error message when I start to render that says "An Error occurred while creating the media file myfilename.wmv" and then "Error 0xC00D0BC3 (message missing)"

It seems to only happen if I choose Windows Audio Voice 9 codec - which is what I have always used in the past.

Can anyone help?

This problem rendering to the WMA 9 Voice codec was introduced when Windows Media Player is upgraded to version 11. Choose a different audio codec in Custom.

Or, use the Windows Media Encoder to encode as wmv (should be a free download from Microsoft). Plan on spending some time learning the user interface. Render your Vegas project as something like DV AVI (or uncompressed) to minimize quality loss when re-encoding using WME.
