Missing plugin error

When I load up any projects with V6, I've been getting an error stating: "An error has occured when loading an audio plug-in or plug-ins. The audio plug-in(s) are not installed on this system." The details just say,

"a9b79e35-336f-40a7-ba90-6c6e0bb906bd
a9b79e35-336f-40a7-ba90-6c6e0bb906bd"

Anybody seen this before? I don't think I had touched any plugins in Vegas.

I get this too in V7.
I've just been ignoring it. No bad things have happened yet.

i get then when there's a 3rd party transition/video FX in use in the project that isn't on my system. Could be as something as simple as an old CC plugin for something like the cubes transition. but only in projects where I've used something that doesn't exist any more.

Have you uninstalled any Sony products lately? All your Sound Forge plugins appear in Vegas (and vise versa) and if you used one (very similar names) & removed a program it could be why.

could be a trackFX. That happened to me once: the trackFX got uninstalled when I uninstalled the Vegas 7 demo.

Come to think of it, I uninstalled some freebie plugins I had recently put in...hmmm..

For me, the error details read:
Plug-in: 'Sony Track Noise Gate' failed to load. Please make sure the plug-in is properly installed.

On the same Details page, I get the same msg for
'Sony Track EQ'
'Sony Track Compressor'
'Sony Track Noise Gate'
'Sony Track EQ' (again)
'Sony Track Compressor' (again).

But again, I just click OK, and everything works well enough.

do you have those plugins? That's exactly what happened when I uninstalled something with the sony name.

I think those are the plugins that are defaulted to the audio tracks when they are created. IF you don't need them, you should be able to change the audio default to NO plugins.

The Happy Frier,
I have legit, serial numbered copies of Vegas 5, 6 & 7 on the same system. 7 is the only one that's mean to me in this way.
Dave t2, I'll check into changing my Default. Thanks for the tip.

I've had an error like that (V7)but haven't encountered a problem..I hope.

I haven't encountered any problems so far, but I haven't done any extensive editing since I've been getting it. The plugins I removed were those free ones -- auto levels, noise reducer, etc. but they didn't come with Vegas, so I don't know why it cares.
