Missing render formats V9

Ros wrote on 7/11/2009, 7:37 AM
Had to reinstall V9 32bits because of a plugin issue, which is resolved but now I don't have as many formats available in the render as...save as type.
For example, MP3 audio and Dolby Digital AC3 are no longer available in V9 32 and 64 bits, while they are available in V8 and V8.1.
Mind you that they are available in V9 if I batch render.

Wondering how I can reslove this issue?

Thanks,

Rob

I fail to guess what is the root cause of your issue. On my side I do have the AC3 and MP3 templates in VP9.

Running separate versions in the past I've seen this from screwed up registry entries. Might have to remove & reinstall, *maybe* even deleting Sony related keys... Saw a knowledgebase article that goes so far as to recommend Remove & Reinstall .NET.

What you might try -- usually can't hurt -- is just registering the ac3 & mp3 Vegas files with Windows. Try 32 1st -- 64 is a PITA -- maybe tracking down a copy of Regdrop? [Still works in 7 64 for 32 bit files BTW!] Also make sure your copies are registered -- I think I remember something about AC3 at least being disabled in the trial.

do you have DVDA 5 installed? I believe the pro AC3 is a codec provided with DVDA - not with Vegas - may be the same for the others if you don't have it installed yet.

I did have DVD Architect installed but I uninstalled the whole V9 32 and 64 and DVDA 5 and the Microsoft Visual C++ x86 and x64, reinstalled the whole deal and all render formats are back!

Thanks all for your advices!

Uninstall/ReInstall no worky?

In a quick web search I found that apparently some 'Cracked' versions are 'Crippled' in this manner too.
No, I'm not saying your version is 'Cracked/Crippled'.

It did work! I meant all render formats are back!

Nice!
Glad to hear you got them back.

Was it a Simple Uninstall/ReInstall that fixed it?

Yes, uninstalled the whole V9 32 and 64 and DVDA 5 and the Microsoft Visual C++ x86 and x64, reinstalled the whole deal and all formats are now available.

Only problem is that nested projects in V9 still open up in with V8 even If I changed the file association to V9....
