Missing Velocity Envelope

I just installed Movie Studio 7.0 and am missing the Velocity Envelope. I only have Composite Level and Fade To Color. Has anyone else had this problem? I chose to Download the software as opposed to have the CD mailed to me. Does the CD have extra envelopes which would include Velocity?

I'm trying to do a slow motion effect on a 30 second clip. The maximum I can drag the movie to on the timeline is 29.92 seconds by holding the control key and dragging to the right. Could the reason be that the footage is is set to 29.?? fps? I tried to change the Undersample Rate to something less in the properties of the clip, but it still doesn't allow me to CNTL drag the clip to anything past 29.92. Any ideas? Is there better software to create slow motion clips? I've captured my clip from a Canon HV20 HiDef camcorder.

Thanks

Vegas Movie Studio doesn't have velocity envelopes.

Using Ctrl-drag should allow you to slow the clip to 1/4 speed, so 30 seconds should stretch out to 120. I can't imagine why you're stuck at 29.92. That's less than 30 seconds, so you should certainly be able to go past that point. Undersample doesn't have anything to do with it. In fact, undersampling will result in worse slow motion.

If you need to go slower than 1/4 speed, stretch it to 1/4, then render to a new file, then place that new file on the timeline and stretch again.

I have the same problem, the help menu reads like this:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Creating Slow-Motion Video

If you want to create a slow-motion video effect, Vegas software provides two methods you can use:

Hold Ctrl while dragging the edge of the event to time-stretch the event.

Right-click a video event, choose Insert/Remove Envelope from the shortcut menu, and then choose Velocity from the submenu to add a velocity envelope to the event.

but I only have Composite Level and Fade to Color.

The Downloadable Manual States this feature is only available with the full version.
I also upgraded a trial copy, I sent a email to support, when I get a responce I'll post it.

When they say "only available in the full version of Vegas", they mean the feature is only available in the $500 "pro" version of Vegas, not Vegas Movie Studio (i.e. the "home" version).

VMS (Vegas Movie Studio) is nearly identical in operation and appearance to the pro version, except that the pro version has a lot more advanced features, unlimited tracks, etc.
