Mixed Resolution?

Hello. When I've created videos in the past, they've always been 1080p. If I were to bring in some additional clips at 720p, would I be able to utilize them with other clips that are 1080p? Would the variance between the two look bad? Also, would I end up rendering to the lower 720p at the expense of 1080p? Would that look silly? Just trying to gauge if this is going to be worth it or not. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yes, of course. Media with higher or lower resolutions than set in Project Properties can be imported on to Vegas Pro's timeline.

That's up to you to decide. Do some test renders with 1080p and 720p media so as to form your own opinion. From your last post, you are using Vegas Pro 22 - it has an AI FX called AI Upscale - try adding that FX to the 720p video event/s to see if there is an image improvement when rendering at 1080p.

If the majority of your project is 1080p with only a few 720p images, then a 1080p render would likely be better; but if your project is mostly 720p with only a few 1080p images, then a 720p render would likely be better.

Just a small point - I'm not sure that 'pixelation' in the title relates to your question. 'Pixelation' is usually considered to be an effect to hide peoples' faces (e.g. witness protection FX) or other things like car licence plate numbers. 'Resolution' is likely the more appropriate term.

No need to worry. Just drop them on your timeline as usual, no need to adjust anything.... Yes you may see a slight difference in the quality of the 1080p and the 720p videos, but there is nothing you can really do about that....All will look well in your final renders.

Okay, thanks! I appreciate the education in all this. I'll give it a go. :)
