Mixing 8 & 9

8 doesn't seem to import projects from 9?

I had an 8 project that suddenly started crashing after a few edits, so I am trying 9, which solved that issue, but now I can't get it back to 8.

Vegas has never been able to load VEG files from a later version into an earlier version. The VEG files are not backward compatible. Their is a recent thread where this was discussed at length, it can be found here:
