Mixing DV and HDV Footage

I'm working on a project involving both DV and HDV footage using VMS Platinum. Project settings are HDV. Projects render OK and, as expected, the DV footage looks pretty lousy compared with HDV.

Here's my question. Has anyone done any "pre-processing" to the DV footage (e.g. de-interlacing, filtering, etc.) that will improve it's quality when rendered to HDV? Thanks in advance.

Nah...you can do this, but will gain little to nothing. You're better off just dropping the DV on the HDV timeline. Or, by dropping the HDV on the DV timeline.
Use widescreen whenever possible for output, because this not only speeds render time, but also offers better image quality due to less processing.
