Mixing MPEG2 and DV input files

Hello,

I have a project (based on PAL DV template) where I want to merge
MPEG2 files with DV files. The "simple" problem I now get is that in
the rendered MPEG2 output either the DV material has wrong field order
or the MPEG2 material, i.e. input fields 1 2 3 4 5 6 are rendered
either as 1 2 3 4 5 6 or 2 1 4 3 6 5.
The MPEG2 input file comes in with "Upper field first" and the DV is
"Lower field first". If I render to MPEG2 with the default setting
"Field order: Interlaced, bottom field first", the DV parts are okay (as one
would expect) and the MPEG2 parts are swapped. Setting Field order
for the rendering process to "top field first" makes DV wrong and MPEG2
right.

I think I have tried all combination regarding the input file field properties
but it does not help :-(

best regards

Sorry, couldn't answer earlier...

This *is* the present property setting for the MPEG2 file.
TECO bitrate viewer confirms this (Field topfirst: Yes) and Vegas
detects it correctly as "upper".

Has anybody successfully mixed DV and MPEG2 and produced
output that's viewed on a TV - either via Firewire or MPEG2 output burned
on a DVD?
(you cannot see the problems on your computer screen)
