mixing with vegas

I'm using a gadget labs wave 824 with 8 in/ 8 out. I'm running the 8 out to a mackie 1202 and monitoring through the control room send. I have each individual track on it's own bus and most of them have effects on it. When I try to mix to a new track or preview, it sounds nothing like the mix that I have been listening to. Anybody have any ideas what's going on? Do the tracks need to be rendered with the effects before I mix out?

The problem, is that you are leaving the digital domain by mixing on your mackie board. Think about it, all your tracks are running through cables now, into your mixer, then back into the computer. Bad idea. Mix inside vegas, keep it in the computer, or the sounds will suck.
