MM not working after SQL Server 2005 install

I've installed SQL Server 2005 (the latest June build) on my machine, forgetting about the MM/SQL Server dependency. I may have blown away bits of SQL 2000 in the process, and now when I start up Vegas I get this:

MSSQL$SONY_MEDIAMGR service does not exist ...

and the Media Manager initialization fails.

Do I need to reinstall all of Vegas 6b?

Thanks

I used to have the same problem, and I followed some of the advices I found in similar messages.
First, uninstall all of the Sonic Foundry and Sony Media software, including the Sony Media Manager!
Second, delete all of the Sonic Foundry and Sony Media setup folders with files in them!
Third, restart Windows!
Fourth, after restarting Windows, the first thing to do is to install Vegas 6, and I would recommend getting currently the latest one, 6.0b!
Fifth, try opening Vegas, and see if you get the error message anymore! Of course, you will have to register Vegas before you can use it.
Sixth, install any other Sonic Foundry or Sony Media software you may have.
Everything should work properly now, as far as Media Manager is concerned.

I would like to know if this has worked for you or anyone else with the same or similar problem! It worked for me!
