Is it possible to monitor existing tracks while overdubbing?

I can record 10 tracks simultaneously and play them all back
successfully. I then arm track 11 for record and set
levels. If I then push play, I can hear the prerecorded
tracks okay. If I rewind and push record, the can record
trackk 11 just fine but I can't hear the previously recorded
tracks.

I'm reasonably new at this. How do I listen to some tracks
while recording on others? I assume this must be possible.
