If youre talking analogue, you need, you need a convertor. If a digital set then you need a VidCard that supports 3 outputs.

I have an analogue PRO CRT set which gets fed a converted stream. I then have a 2 output nVidia card supplying VGA and another being supplied HDMI. So, 2 x digital and 1 x analogue.

My card nvidia gtx 465 has 2 dvi, 1-mini hdmi. The ard only allows 2 outs at one time. How do I get a third output to view my preview monitor?

Probably the best way is to use a card such as the BlackMagic Design Intensity Pro or an AJA card.

That way you can feed an HD TV via HDMI out.

I use a more expensive solution - a BMD Decklink Studio card and it supplies an HDMI feed to an LCD HD TV as well as a simultaneous, downconverted SD feed to a SONY Pro 14" monitor.

Here's the setup:

I quite simply use two Nvidia cards, one for my two 22inch working monitors (via the two DVI's) and the other card for my 24inch HD preview monitor via HDMI. Both cards are in PCIe slots, works perfectly, only one minor thing, make sure the internal power supply is over 550watts.

if you want to run it like a computer monitor, then you can just set put in another video card, and run them in a non-SLI configuration and just hook up the 2nd video card to the TV.

I have 2 matching nVidia cards; one sends a DVI signal to my 24" program monitor when I click the lille button. Works great. I even use the color profiles to simulate a real monitor.
