Monitor Question

I normally use a primary LCD monitor for timeline viewing and a secondary LCD monitor for all the other transistions, fx's, etc. The overlay goes out to another LCD monitor (1366) and the firewire to a standard small tv set through the ADVC 300. I would like to try the secondary monitor position for the HDV preview with another 1920 monitor but then I loose the crummy monitor for the transistions and the firewire link. (I think)
Anybody messed around with these different setups?

i use 2 montiors.. the timeline is up top strewn across both screens..
The lower half has my surround mixer and panner docked, then i have my preview window 9as in all monitoring is done on the far right lower portion.. )
On the lower left i have event pan crop, docked with project media, media generators and video/transition effects. As these 4 are always flipping about as i work along, keeping them out of teh way like this works for me.. in the centre I have my plugin manager. Its faster to drag and drop ala Premiere style and as i now only need ot use my presets, i can usualy apply whole chains with one click and drag, to the right of that i have my individual filters, and the to riht of those i have my scopes..

Works well for me..
i preview out with an MX500 through firewire.. I ttried using the second monitor, but for me, the workspace is too tight and too much navigating around.. i like this to be honest, i really have no need to monitor my previews all that much as i know what ive shot and how ive shot it. Sounds strange but when u shoot as much as i do on a day by day basis, u get to know ur work and theres no need to monitor all that closely. For intense filters like radial blurs and the like, i always run external. Colour, i use external through firewire, as the colour profiles are a littlle inacurate for secondary display
