DVD Architect insists on using my non-5.1 compatible built-in sound card for previewing audio. How can I change DVD Architect's audio outputs to the S/PDIF on my Tascam US428 for true AC-3 encoded sound monitoring? I can't find anything in the manual or preferences.
That tascam unit looks nice, but first off didn't see anything on a quick look at their website saying it was capable of 5.1 out, if that's what you want. Also, think the 5.1 monitoring is done in Vegas itself. Re: ac3 monitoring, in my experience it takes an ac3 decoder (as in power dvd, or one of the freeware versions on the web), & it doesn't seem one is built into the sofo apps, though could of course be wrong (apologies but rendering on that machine, can't get a look see).
I am able to monitor the AC-3 encoded audio in DVD architect using the built in soundcard in a Dell Inspiron 8200. I have to enable the S/PDIF output in the advanced menu in the master volume mixer. Too bad it doesn't work in Vegas...
