Monitoring plugin effects on track being recorded

Sneddy wrote on 10/20/2007, 9:01 AM
I have searched the data base on the forum and can't find any info on monitoring plug-in effects on the track being recorded. I have Vegas 6.0d but just purchased 8.0. Does the version make any difference to achieve this.
I record woodwinds and would like to hear reverb.
Thank you all in advance. Bob K.

arm to record
monitor audio ON (if your sound card supports it)
click on the the plugin effect for your track, and add your desired effect...

you may need to change your sound card audio prefs.
TOOLS, prefs, audio device TAB

good luck.

Please fill out your system specs in your user profile.

You must use an audio card/interface that has ASIO drivers to configure software input monitoring.

You configure this by eitther:

1. right clicking on the track and selecting the input monitor mode.
2. Arm the track for record and select the input monitoring mode from the input source icon
3. In Vegas 8, the Mix Console will show you the state of input monitoring on the audio tracks. (The icon that looks like a pill.)

if your sound card does not have AISO drivers. you can download a program, AISO4ALL that will fool it into thinking it does.. give it a try! its free, i use it.. (it is clean)
