Monitoring THRU vegas?

I want to get rid of my tape recorders and just use
converters. is it even POSSIBLE to monitor thru vegas?
not with any fancy hardware monitoring function like in
echo's console.

I mean I put the device in input in vegas and I cant hear
anything...i dont always have the option of listening to
the input

Will WDm have this ability?

this is kind of an important issue!

you can hear crickets farting whenever the monitoring topic
comes up!

The truth is some serious real monitoring ability has to
come in sooner or later on the MME side. I think a lot of
us were quite happy to ride along the road of vegas'
evolution, but it seems its hit a dead end. Please, the
ASIO apps out there are slow and clunky compared to vegas
at least when it comes to editing, but ASIO itself looks
mighty good lately...please reconsidr some of your
pigheaded closed minded decisions about ASIO and VST in
vegas
