Mono audio in Mov file?

Nick Ball wrote on 12/6/2007, 12:46 PM
I have some captured files from Final Cut that have two mono tracks - what was originally stereo. When they come into vegas I get two mono tracks, rather than one stereo (like the files I captured directly into vegas). Is there anyway I can convince vegas to make this a stereo track, or any way of converting the file? It is a bit of a pain mixing these files with stereo ones....

Thanks!

Nick

There's several way to do this.
A simple way is to download a free utility from here:
http://www.sounddevices.com/products/waveagent.htm
It will convert mono wav files to poly wav files.
As an added perk, you can convert FLAC to wav.

Hi Bill,

That's an interesting tool, thanks for the pointer, but unfortunately my files are quicktime .mov files rather than .wav files. Any other ideas?

Thanks

Pan mono track #1 hard left and the other track hard right.
Render as stereo .WAV file.
