I have a Dell with 256 memory. It renders pretty well, but when I use the cross zoom transition, it seems to deform the picture. I'm assuming maybe by boosting my memory to 1 gig, this may help the video render better, faster and cleaner. Am I right for thinking this way?
Better, probably not
Cleaner, probably not
Faster, probably not, but maybe - if your rig needs to swap to disk a lot
Ram helps the most when previewing (rather then rendering), and it helps even more if you like to have an image-editing application open while you use Vegas.
Download a little freeware utility called RAMpage. It installs in your System Tray, and keeps track of just how much ram is actually in use at the moment.
I have found that my system only uses about 200MB even when rendering, and that's with about 40 processes running in the background. More ram will allow for longer "Dynamic RAM previews", but that's about it.
Does it print to tape like that, or is it playing out through the computer monitor? If I'm not mistaken (and I probably am... I'm by no means the most technically inclinded individual here!), it might just be a refresh issue with your video card, providing that you're only watching via your computer...
If it's printing to tape like that, damned if I know!
