It might but we have to ask ourselves if Sony sees a cost benefit in making DVD-A more sophisticated. DVD-A is overpriced for what it does but is easy to use and works seamlessly with Vegas, giving users an all-in-one solution. If they add useful things to make DVD-A's functionality comparable with Reel DVD or the latest ULead the cost will go up and people might opt for Premiere Pro/Encore etc.

When/where did this happen? I've been off-line for a few days.

Thanks.

Sony has posted its prices, and they are MUCH higher than what I paid in a direct purchase from SoFo.

T'is unfortunate. Pinnacle did the same thing after assimilating Dazzle, same product but somehow enhanced and improved simply through application of the Pinnacle logo. I'm interested to see what AVID Mojo, Pinnacle Whatever and Canopus Storm2 do in response to the Matrox RTX100 Pro. I have an Rez 100 Canopus box and just picked up a X100 and a custom built PC to run it. The Matrox solution is superior at half the cost. Premiere Pro ain't all that bad and if Sony is to keep market share Vegas can't get much pricier -- why buy a software only solution when for a couple of hundred more you can get Premniere Pro, Encore and Audition PLUS an RT board that does great MPEG2 real time capture and pretty well any screen size you want.

No offense intended. I will stick with Vegas/Sound Forge for as long as I can.
