More Testing. Really Need Help

I did some more testing and I'm at a loss to figure this out. In short, wherever I start playback on the timeline, the timeline playhead "remembers" where I started the playback and at the end of the last thing on the timeline, the cursor wants to park itself at the place where I started the playback, almost like a replay again function and where it's parked, that's where I get the frozen frame from whatever is on the screen at that point. Really strange. I haven't seen this before that I can recall. ANY HELP HERE?

That is the default operation of the ' start - stop ' function ..

Look under preferences for a check-box that lets you change the function to reposition the cursor where you stop playing..

For the record, the preferences setting is "Make spacebar and F12 Play/Pause instead of Play/Stop." It's on the General tab under Options > Preferences.

That's true, but in addition to that Vegas returns to the starting point if you just let the timeline play out unattended. Hit play, let it go, it gets to the end of the timeline and returns to your start point. That behavior has nothing to do with the play/pause setting, afaik.

Interesting Rob.
I have been using Vegas since V3 and have not seen that behaviour. If I start play from close to the end of the last event on the t/l, for me at least, it just keeps going. It does not return to the start point.

I have 'spacebar' set to Stop/Start and changing it to Play/Pause still does not alter it. I wonder if there's another setting I am missing. Would love to have the behaviour you describe.

Tom

edit: I stand corrected - somewhat. It pops back to the start when it hits the next 15sec boundary - dotted vertical lines on the t/l. But not at the end of the last event.
