Please forgive me for cross-posting (I originally posted in the Vegas Audio forum, I think I've managed to delete it) but I think with hindsight that I don't really have an audio problem as such but more an interface problem. Copy of post below.
My first post so please go easy on me! I've scoured both these forums and the internet but can't find a solution to this.
I'm fairly new to Vegas Pro and have just upgraded from version 7 to 8.0c and am working with AVCHD files. I was wanting to work with the 'more powerful' features of the trimmer but have hit a rather big stumbling block in that I can't get the trimmer to display more than 2 audio channels at a time. This makes it pretty much useless for a 5.1 project because anything inserted into the timeline from the trimmer has 4 audio channels missing.
My project is set up for 5.1 and media dragged directly to the timeline has all audio channels assigned correctly. I have chosen the correct audio stream (in my case stream 2) by right clicking the audio waveform in the trimmer and can go as far as choosing which 2 (or even single) channel I want to display in the trimmer but no matter what I do I can't get it to display more than 2 at once. Surely I can't be the only one wanting to do this.
Please help!!
