Motion blur cause flashing frames..?

Hi, (my first post here btw. nice forum you got here!)

I got this scene where I used a "fullscreen-solid-white" picture to make a flash effect (like a cameraflash). It's only a 3 frame flash (first 50%, then 100%, then 50% opacity) going 3 times in 5 sec. I guess this is a bad way to do this effect... but when I render this project with the motionblur I get several frames flashing (guess it's trying to make the keyframes..). Hope you get my problem? Is there a way around or do I have to render this part by its own without the motionblur effect..?

(it has now taken 10 minutes to type this post cause my english is quite bad.. :) Im from sweden..)

you might have add your flashes after rendering your track with the motion blur.

you could render your project (to DV), then drop the rendered file back into Vegas and add the flashes. then re-render. if you are rendering to DV the re-render will be quick since only the flashes part will have to be re-compressed. be careful about project settings and everything so you don't end up recompressing the unaffected footage on the final render.
